Jerry
Pierce, Extinguisher Manager: Jerry
serves as the Extinguisher Manager for Johnson Fire and
Safety. In this position, he is responsible for
overseeing all aspects of fire extinguisher sales and
service, hood fire systems service, exit and emergency
lighting, and industrial fire and safety products and
training, and other related matters. He has over 25
years of experience in the fire extinguisher industry,
beginning as a part-time extinguisher technician working
during his days off from the Lake City Fire Department.
He started with the LCFD as an Engineer in February of
1971, and eventually served as Training Officer,
Assistant Chief, and Chief of the combination
paid/volunteer fire department before retiring in 1999.
Jerry is a South Carolina certified firefighter, first
responder, instructor, building inspector, and fire
marshal. He presently serves as a volunteer with South
Lynches Fire Department. In his free time, he enjoys
playing golf.

Charles
Mouzon, SCBA Service Technician,
cmouzon@johnsonfire.net:
Charles Mouzon serves as Johnson Fire’s SCBA technician.
His responsibilities include making repairs to SCBA
in North and South Carolina, on-site flow testing, and
other related services. Charles has about 35 years in
emergency services, and has worked full-time in both fire
and law enforcement. He holds many qualifications and
certifications, and currently serves as a volunteer with
South Lynches Fire Department. Charles enjoys hunting and
spending time with
his family.

Julius
Duke, Hydrostatic
Testing Technician: julius@johnsonfire.net
Toby serves
as the Hydrostatic Testing Technician for Johnson Fire
and Safety. He handles all facets of hydro testing,
including CO2 extinguishers and large and small
breathing air cylinders. Toby retired from the South
Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) after 28
years, and has over 29 years of experience in the fire
service. He currently serves as Deputy Chief for
Safety for the SLFD. Toby is a South Carolina certified
firefighter, first responder, American Red Cross First
Aid and CPR instructor, and certified diver. He has
also completed courses in low angle rescue, rope rescue,
incident command, safety officer, and Haz Mat
operations. Professionally, he holds certifications in
DOT Cylinder Requalification, CSI Visual Inspection,
MAKO air compressor repair, and MSA Ultralite II SCBA
repair. In his free time, Toby enjoys diving.

Rena
Welch, Office Assistant/Accounts Payable & Receivable
Clerk: rena@johnsonfire.net
Rena Welch serves as
Office Assistant. She comes to Johnson Fire & Safety
with an Associate Degree in Business and having served
for two years with the Center for Accelerated Technical
Training at Williamsburg Technical College. She is
responsible for accounts payable and receivable, and
also serves as receptionist and switchboard operator.
Rena enjoys spending time with her family when not
working.

Kent
Welch, Head Service Technician:
kwelch@johnsonfire.net
Kent Welch serves as the Shop Foreman for the
apparatus service side of the business. Kent is
certified in several different areas of fire apparatus
repairs including aerial repair, pump repair and
multiplexed electrical repair. Kent has over 20 years in
mechanic work experience. Kent is married and has
two daughters. In his off time he enjoys hunting and
riding his motorcycle.

Douglas
(Bo-Bo) Frye, Service Technician: Bo-Bo serves as
a shop technician for apparatus repair. He is certified
in numerous area of apparatus repair. He holds
certification in apparatus repair and maintenance,
multiplexed electrical, heavy duty brakes repairs just
to name a few. In his off time he enjoys working on and
riding four wheelers. |

Phil
Calcutt, Parts Manager: pcalcutt@johnsonfire.net:
Phil serves as the parts manager for the service
shop as well as over the counter sales. Phil has been in
the parts business for over thirty years and is
very knowledgeable about the parts industry. In his
spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and
playing golf. |
